POSITION: MEMBERSHIP AND DIGITAL ENGAGEMENT OFFICER (FULL-TIME)
LOCATION: This role is based in AONTAS, the National Adult Learning
Organisation, **Apply on the website** Main St, Ranelagh, Dublin 6,
D**Apply on the website** E0H1. AONTAS provides a flexible working
approach. Therefore, this role will allow for both at-home and
in-office working through a hybrid work model. Some travel and
unsocial hours may also be involved. Time in lieu is offered for out
of hours working.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: AONTAS seek a motivated and experienced person
with excellent communication skills to support our digital and
membership engagement.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Membership and Digital Engagement Officer will work directly on
the Communications team to support and build membership, increase
digital engagement, and develop AONTAS? web presence across our
owned and social media.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - MEMBERSHIP
* Develop and implement a strong Membership Strategy with a focus on
recruitment and retention
* Identify, monitor and respond to the needs of the membership
* Work with the Finance and Administration Team to maintain accurate
and up-to-date membership details of AONTAS members using the CRM
database
* Engage the membership in key campaigns and events including the
Annual General Meeting and Community Education Network meetings
* Develop and implement the Adult Learners? Festival under the
direction of Head of Communications to ensure maximum, quality,
learner-centred events across Ireland during the festival and ensure
engagement from a wide variety of AONTAS members
* Oversee all elements of the AONTAS STAR Awards and share and
celebrate models of best practice using learner stories
* Create, develop and maintain effective working relationships with
service users/external agencies and relevant stakeholders
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - DIGITAL
* Develop, propose and implement digital solutions to campaigns using
a range of techniques including web content, search engine
optimisation, social media, email, PR, advertising, video etc
* Contribute to the redevelopment of AONTAS websites, including
SEO-optimised content planning and creation
* Work closely with other teams to develop and enable delivery of
bespoke campaigns
* Provide support, including photography and social media updates,
at AONTAS events
* Manage content for websites and online networks including events
* Collate and monitor digital activity analytics and assess against
KPIs and goals
* Cultivate relationships with relevant organisations, stakeholders
and partners.
* Any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time by the Head
of Communications.
LINE MANAGEMENT
The Membership and Digital Engagement Officer direct line report is to
the Head of Communications.

At all times, operate to the highest professional, ethical and

circumstances in AONTAS and undertaking, surrendering or realigning

* Significantly enhancing our digital presence and social media
engagement
REQUIREMENTS
CORE REQUIREMENTS
* Third-level qualification or equivalent experience in
Communications, Digital Media, Marketing or similar discipline
* Strong multi-disciplinary approach and background, with wide
ranging skill in communications and outreach
* Powerful communication and strong interpersonal skills with the
ability to bring people together
* Experience of PR practices and social media
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Motivated, flexible and proven ability to use own initiative and
adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
* Strong knowledge of adult and community education
* At least 3 years? experience in a communications focused role
with event management experience
* Proven ability to plan and coordinate resources and meet tight
deadlines in a fast-paced environment
* Experience of some or all of the following an advantage:
* WordPress
* Social media platforms including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram,
* Visual design tools such as Canva, Photoshop, InDesign
* MS-Office/Teams
* Salesforce
* Google analytics
* Video content creation
* Familiarity with PR landscape and press releases
* Understanding of GDPR compliance and e-privacy regulation
